The novel is a masterpiece, the film just barely suggests it

Well I loved reading tho novel but I have to say turning it into a movie didn't quite succed. There are som e unfortunate shifts of the plot that makes Matt i look like a two faced shallow git. I have a lot of other objctions too, but I will just mention that the laguage barrier wasn't hadled with considareble care either. I want more from an experienced actor like Ljunggren. Hell, even I can do a finish accent better than that. And it is not too much to ask!

I couldn't have been that hard to cast some finish speaking people to do this, could it?

Some of the original loveliness of the novel lingers on to the film though.
