It was shown in wide release in Florida-I can only speak for my area-and here it was playing for many showings at most of the theatres in the South Florida-Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach areas.
I was lucky enough to see it and it is a little gem of a film. I hope that enough Florida residents see it so it will get nationwide release.
There is a Touchstone phone number. I think that the contact info is available on www.movies.com under contact us. This site is Disney/BVI sponsored I believe.
I just don't understand why no info was posted about the release on any movie website. I think Touchstone/BVI has repeatedly dropped the ball with promoting this film. They did not even make mention of the tie-in to the Graduate. The book the movie was based on was written by Charles Webb, the author of "The Graduate".
I wrote the Miami Herald and they said there was no advance screening for reviewers.
Lots of great jokes on small town America. Colin was very natural and was right on as the artist he played. Heather Graham was a lot better than I expected. There was good repartee between Oliver Platt as the mayor and Colin. Mary Steenburgen was way over the top. The movie was supposed to be set in New England and she's doing a Joisey accent. The scenes of the portraits of the local townsfolk were precious.
PS-Colin looked scrumptious.
