I know it's a silly little question but when Firth was browsing in the shop towards the beginning of the film his bill came to $48 which was the exact amount that he had on him.Was this just a coincidence (or was the price rounded up) as to me that does seem rather expensive for what amounted to a sketch pad & half a dozen pencils?!

PS In the book she charges him $56 and keeps the stuff while he goes to an ATM.
