Don or Lee?

Which one did you prefer? And which one did you want her to end up with?

Yeah I liked Lee...althought Don was really sweet and cute. I would feel bad for him.

I think she really loved her husband, but Lee represented the adventurous side of her that she never let out before. I wanted her to stay with her husband, just because that would make her experience with Lee so much sweeter. Love lost is a strangely appealing concept.

As much as I liked Lee, I just couldn't help loving Don and the way he loved Ann. I just thought it was so sweet and selfless, making even the smallest things meaningful. My favorite scene in the movie by far is when he is holding Ann and asking her to sing to him, and she sings "God only knows," and they both look so blissfully happy, as if none of their troubles exist. Still, Lee was special in a different way, another kind of love for Ann that she needed.

For me, it would be Don. He treated her like gold and although he may not have has been as adventerous as she wanted, he had children with her, and looked like a damn good father. So, yea... Don

IT would be Lee. Lee is sweet, vulnerable, idealistic. His idealism leads him to become kind of depressed. With the love he has for Anne he becomes happier and so romantic ( if someone was not in awe after the laudromat scene I thin I scream). Also, Lee was something Ann dreamed to be: he travelled everywhere, went to school, reads tons of book.

One thing I hated about Lee in the french dubbed version he looks so angry when he learns that the cappucino machine does'nt work...Man don't be depressed because of a cappucino...

As much as i love Lee and his relationship with Ann, it would have been incredibly selfish and irrational of her to end up with him. Her search for an outside realationship was mostly fueled by curiosity rather than dis-satisfation with Don. He was loving, supportive, and a great father so he didn't deserve to be dumped. Also Ann still loved him. Also for the sake of her children, she should have stayed in her marraige. There was nothing wrong with it, so yeah, I think she should have stayed with Don.

Man that is so hard, i mean if i were Ann and i wernt married than deffinetely Lee, i looooved him, he was so sweet and sensitive and so in love with her and just amazing and so hot. But then Don was a sweet person too and a great husband and father although i didnt find him attractive at all. I dont know what i would do if i were her. They are both great guys. Maybe just keep seeing them both. lol. No, if i wasnt married to Don with children or if i wasnt happy in my marriage or in love with Don than i would choose Lee. I liked Lee ALOT more and wanted her to be with him, i loved thier relationship.

Don all the way.

Def.Lee.all the way.i just got the impression Don didnt appreciate her.Lee did.He put her on a pedastal.Don could have done better to get them out of the crap hole they lived in.

I think that's a little bit unfair to Don. I think that the scene where they're in bed after having dinner with Ann's co-worker was really sweet, and just about broke my heart. "I want to be better for you." It's so simple and genuine and heartfelt.

I like Lee too. They're time together was romantic and sweet and passionate, and he brought so much color in to her life.

I think it worked out just right. Had Ann lived, I really don't see her continuing an affair with Lee nor would i want her to.

I agree.

reply

Lee...cuz he reminds me to somebody who looks like him, but i saw this movie before know this person. So Lee's personality and all that really caught my eye.

reply

I agree, had she lived the situation couldn't have continued in the same way and wouldn't have evolved into anything better. The love with Lee might have fizzled out or grown stronger and created problems in her marriage, so in a way her death settled things.

I also loved Don and the way he said "I want to be better for you" and from an outside perspective- not knowing what it's like to be 23 and about to die (so I can't really judge)- I would have stuck with Don because he was such an amazing person to me. Although Lee was incredibly caring too.

reply

Don because:

1. He took his t-shirt off so she could wipe her tears in the Nirvana concert where they first met.
2. He didn't run a mile when she got pregnant at 16/17.
3. Because he was obviously devoted to her and still inlove with her.
4. Because he was good with the kids, a loving father.

I did like Lee though too.....his softly spoken manner, he seemed like a broken vase waiting to be patched up again. I guess that she loved Don, but was, without planning to be, 'inlove' with Lee.

Hell, why choose? Why not have both, like Tilda Swinton, who has a husband and a boyfriend, and all are happy and live together. If only, hey?

reply

Lee all the way. he broke my heart into pieces. that scene where he and ann are in his living room, and she asserts: "you don't want to get any more stuff because you're scared she'll come back". his expression is devastating. now that i think about it, it bares quite a resemblance to his acting in a scene from 13 going on 30, the one right before he's about to get married and he says sorry to jennifer garner's character. mark ruffalo sure does the sad, tortured lover to a T, if i must say so myself.

Lee....Uhhh... why?.....Uhhhh¿?

There's no point in that question, isn't it? The only reason why she is getting in touch with Lee is her dying and her wish to fullfill two of her points on the list. If she were not ill, she just would have stayed happy with Don.

reply

Don. "I want to be better for you." I lost it when he said that...

Lee was just on the list, imho
