Brilliant Film

Brilliant film.

One thing that fascinates me about this film is how unsettling the music is.

This film is very moving and has inspired me to write poetry.

I watched this movie for the second time last night (Director's Cut). It hasn't dated in the slightest and I still think it's one of the best action movies around. Didn't take too much notice of the music score first time around but the way it adds to the tension in some scenes is awesome. The end theme is wonderfully moving and uplifting.

This means something, this is important.

There is only one scene in this movie approaching brilliance, and it is when the squad moves into the village and sees the soldiers slaughtering the inhabitants. I recall reading in a magazine article interview where a former US special forces sniper said this was the most realistic scene in a Hollywood movie in its portrayal of how the sniper covers the rest of the men as they move up into the village.

Yeah I agree. The music added to the overall feel of the film.

I wouldn't describe the music as "unsettling" more like brilliant, but thats just me. When I watched the credits I was not surprised in the least to see Hans Zimmer was behind it. It's like any movie I see with a brilliant score was done by him.
