Hated Actually

Had heard what a wonderful movie this was. Only able to catch the last half hour on cable. I always hate it when people judge a movie after only seen part of it. And yet . . Somehow I think in this case it doesn't matter (but acknowledge I could be wrong).

In the last half hour saw it portrayed as funny a father calling his overweight daughter "Miss Donut", portrayed as cute a little boy tricking airport security, Liem Neisen overacting to an almost unbearable degree, sappy scenes going on way too long.

Maybe if I watched everything before I would like it - but don't know if I can make myself.

Watch the whole film.

You will still come to the same conclusion though. Too smug for me.

It's that man again!!

if you watch the whole film you might find you like some of it. With so many different stories, there's a chance some will appeal to you. Personally, I like about half of them. My preference would have been for more comedy and less tearjerking.

objviewer - always trust your instincts!! yours are good.

Each time I catch a scene from this movie again on TV (except for the beginning & end airport scenes of real people), I cringe a little more than I did the last time.

Not to mention that the kid who plays Liam Neeson's son appears to be about 8 years old and his crush looks 15. It's like Dwight Schrute having an affair with Meryl Streep.
