Predictable

I happened to catch this film on Sundance Channel last night. It was on my list of films to see so I tuned in with the anticipation one would feel about an Emma Thompson or Antonio Banderas film. You figure it will be good, or at least good enough to spend 2 hours of your time. I always stick with a movie once I've committed to it.

I will just list a few things that annoyed me:
- I couldn't tell if Emma Thompson's character, Cecilia, was supposed to be from England or Argentina - the accent kept throwing me off.
- why wasn't this film in Spanish? Would have played so much better.
- his psychic powers never let the viewer be "thrilled" in this thriller. He always knew where she was and what was happening to her...as did we.
- the violent scenes seemed cliched - which is not something I want to say about a film dealing with such a horrific situation.
- and to follow on the note before...it was too predictable.

I really wanted to like this film.

How can you say that about this film? I loved it! ok perhaps a little cliche but it was emtionally deversating. I am one of the hardest people to please when it comes to films but I was really surprised. As a hardcore horror fan (this being an exception) nothing, I repeat NOTHING effects me when it comes to films, this made me shout, nearly cry/rench (not at the same time of course!) Each to their own opinions but it deserved more than 6.1 out of 10 for christ sakes!!

T: What's your position?
P: upright, head turned slightly to the left.
T: Why do I bother??!!
