shareI saw it in a different way. in the end Arnold kinda forces Helga to admit that she was kidding- like "lets keep that a secret". I think he just says that to reassure Helga that it would not screw up their friendship and that it also would not be a subject of gossip among their friends. which if you go really into depth is kinda polite and sweet of Arnold that he is making it "dealable" instead of calling off their entire friendship. thats why hes the hero :)

shareYeah, Arnold asked if Helga really meant what she said, and they both agreed to forget about what went on between them. Maybe Arnold did liked her then, but just wasn't ready to take it to the next step, and neither is Helga.

shareAs far as I can tell, when Arnold is asking if Helga really likes him and she retracts what she says. It seems as though he knows but he'ld prefer not to go there, and to be honest her crush is really obessively scary. Plus there was another episode, I think in first season that establish Helgar's bullying was because she liked him. The ironic nature behind this whole thing is, he only likes(As a friend)her when she's nice and I think the episodes clearly demonstrate this.
I'm going to sum this up by saying, he knows but he wont let on because he isn't interested in her.
But in the Jungle movie he does....and the whole Pataki thing is stupid. Why get with someone and thank break up? And have her move to a different place.....i don't like the idea. They are 10, too young to even be in a relationship. They should have waited until they were in their senior year to hook up...
