Another godzilla movie ruined by the lead

Same with giant monsters attack

What happened to toho in the 2000s...did if suffer the same disease Hollywood has?

Casting th same old cliche main female character...you know she's tough, misunderstood a rebel...and the twig can beat 10 guys twice her size

reply

LOL so true, she might be hot but she is a mary sue! Why did they even let the doctor be a weakling lol.

Misunderstood as a rebel... girl you are hot! You can get any man you want!

reply

I can kinda see that here, but I thought the cast of GMK was really good.

reply

So, tough female lead = Mary Sue?

She lost in the opening scene and carried a great deal of doubt and grief until the end of the film. That's hardly a Mary Sue type.

reply

But she is a Mary Sue. A tragic Mary Sue, boo hoo my life is terrible and I can beat men twice my size and weight... don't be like me little girl...

I see in the character of Akane a person whose narrative arch embodies the concept of redemption.

With an economy of words and exposition, scenes and dialogue, Director Masaaki Tezuka, through Yumiko Shaku, takes us along a journey which includes acceptance by her team and includes the daring and death-defying rescue of her chief antagonist and tormentor, 2nd Lt. Hayama, played very menacingly by Yusuke Tomoi.

I am able to relate Akane Yashiro to the film Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla in a way that enhances my enjoyment of this remarkable kaiju eiga. She is central to the story, and her heroism is plausible and satisfying. Akane anchors the narrative of this film, which is underpinned by her relationship with Kiryu.

reply

Hayama should had beaten her up to a bloody pulp.

Guess there really are people who act worse than 12 year olds.

reply

I actually liked the lead in this movie...maybe it's because I thought she was hot though...

The movie was average.

reply

Loved the lead for the same reason.

reply

Maybe You're just sexist? Would you be saying the same thing if it was a guy in the main protagonist seat?

reply

The guy from Godzilla VS Kaiju VS Mothra; Cujo I believe his name is, is also stupid.
