Bethesda should sell a pre-modded Morrowind

I love Morrowind. Every year or so, I get a craving to play it again, and every time, I have to go through the process of finding the right combination of compatible mods, updates, and DLC to get the game running. After downloading everything, the mods must be installed/extracted, and run through a mod manager.

I wish Bethesda would sell a pre-modded version of Morrowind, with Better heads and bodies, better clothing, texture packs, MGE, and whatever other mods they could get their hands on.

Legality shouldn't be much of a problem. I think Bethesda reserved the right to use any third party content created for Morrowind in any way they wish. Even if that isn't the case, I sure they could rather easily, and cheaply, make their own versions of the mods that are out there. Then just sell the game with the mods and a program that lets the user switch them on or off. Even at $40 retail, they'd make a killing off die-hard Morrowind fans alone, not to mention people who never played the game when it first came out.

So does anyone know why Bethesda doesn't want to make piles of money?

Would be a dream come true.

Or, y'know, you could also just play the game straight out of the box, as Bethesda originally made it -- for anyone playing this on consoles, this is the only real option, but it's still a great game, even unmodded.

Mods are nice, but they have, in some ways, become the tail wagging the dog, in the sense that some gamers feel that an already-near-perfect title can only be "fixed" with their help. Hubris, I call it.

Admittedly, I've added a few mods to my Bethesda games here and there, but mainly smaller cosmetic things for Oblivion, Morrowind, and Fallout 3. I usually stay away from mods that massively change a game in any significant way. I prefer to play games as the developer intended.

(God bless whoever created the "Cliff Racer Extinction" mod, though. Saint Jiub would be proud.)

Cliff Racer Extinction mod you say?

I've tried my best creating a "Nothing Respawns" mod but without success. You'd think removing the check for Respawn would do it but guess not.

I'm not attacking your grammar, I'm attacking your inability to be civil. Obviously you don't like being called stupid either, based on how upset you got over my comment. If you can't take it, don't dish it.

reply

Why not. According to internet dickward theory, if i cna get away with it, ill do it. welcome to the internet.
