Worth playing after Oblivion?

I am currently playing oblivion and think it is one of the best games i have ever played..I have completed most of the game and have bought the expansion pack 'shivering isles'.I just wanted a few opinions as to whether or not it is worth playing Morrowind after playing Oblivion?..And what version is best?..PC or Xbox?...I would asume the PC version is better due to expansion packs and so forth....Also, what spec PC would run this game well?...Ive heard that it can suffer framerate lag and generally run very slowly on some PC's...I have a pentium 4 with 512 MB RAM in my bedroom, and this would be the PC i would like to play on..But i have a dual core AMD 64 with 4GB RAM as my my work PC (i work from home) so i could use that if need be. Thanks in advance for any and all advice!!!

If you can handle the downgrade in graphics, I highly recommend Morrowind.
In fact I would say it's actually superior to Oblivion (although they both rock).

Morrowind is a much "deeper" game. More armour, more spells, more factions
...more possibilities in general.

However, it doesn't look so pretty.
(or sound so pretty, considering the dialouge is in text, not audio).

Anyways, I've been playing Morrowind recently just for the crazy khajit walk.

Thanks for the reply Gamer man!...I don't think the graphics would bother me so much tbh. So it seems that i might get this game on pc as the xbox version isn't backwards compatible yet.

i agree with Gamer man, though less sophisticated on a technical level, it blows oblivion out the water with its Imagination and depth.

we gotta go to the crappy planet where im a hero!!

I guess that clinches it then!!....I'm gonna get it on PC ..thanks for the input you guys!! :)...Although i doubt it will 'blow oblivion out of the water' (i just can't imagine any game doing that)...But we shall see!..Thanks again!

Morrowind is much more entertainig than oblivion!
its map is three times larger
the graphic is not that bad,but you can use some mods to make it like oblivion
and many cool spells from morrowind wasnt in oblivion(like levitation)
if it wasnt for annoying cliff racers I'd probably start Morrowind from the begining

-No,no.He's not missing. We just…can't seem to find him at this moment!

Ugghhh I hate those blasted cliff racers. The game would be so much better without them!

Happiness, Joy, Optimism, Wonderment, Elation, Cheery, Beautiful, Sunny, Benevolence, Bliss, etc...

Actually, Oblivion's map is larger. Oblivion is 16 square miles, and Morrowind is 6 square miles. If you want a HUGE map, playe Daggerfall. 65,000 square miles to explore, twice the of the UK!!!

I dont know about the exact measurements and all but in oblivion any small place like caves are made a big deal out of! and are shown on the map!
so maybe it seems there are more places to seek and explore
but in Morrowind only towns are appeared on map and yet there are so many ofem.
in Daggerfall things come in random!
it means you cant come back to a place by learning its path!
so it doesnt really matter if its twice the size of UK or not

yes, go for it. morrowind has lots and lots to offer. get game of the year. it has werewolves. no werewolves in cyrodil. although the vampire system blows in morrowind. the graphics are of little concern when the gameplay is so solid.

Definitely recommend Morrowind, I played the game back when it came out but never finished it. So after completing Oblivion I decided to go back and complete Morrowind. Despite crappier graphics, crappier fighting system and less attractive environments, Morrowind is better.

reply

Yup. Be sure to get mods, though. You can improve the graphics and add on a lot of stuff.

With a few tweaks here and there, Morrowind is still more than a match for Oblivion. I'd recommend using the dual core PC, as its fairly processor intensive. Anyways, here's a beginner's guide on how to get it up to its full potential:

you'll know at like 5 minutes into the game!

I played it after Oblivion and Skyrim, and it's my favourite of the series.
