IYH: A Cold Day In Hell Review

First time ive seen this ppv so im reviewing as im watching. Good Ol JR and The Kang on commentary.

Match #1

Singles Match

Hunter Hearst Helmsley w Chyna Vs Flash Funk

Funk gets a few cheers from the crowd. Theyre usually dead when he's in the ring. Too bad, Scorpio was a great worker. Hunter controls most of it with Chyna sucker punching Flash when she can. Flash mounts a comeback but a pedigree puts him down for 3 around the 10 minute mark. Chyna crotches him on the ropes postmatch. 1 1/2 star.

Match #2

Singles Match

Rocky Maivia Vs Mankind

After the horrendous response at Mania 13 they yanked the belt off Rocky and he's just about to start his heel run that would reinvent and make his career. Rocky hits his very first rock bottom on ppv on Maknind ON the steel rampway. JR takes a shot at the shtheads at home who say they know how to fall:) Fans still hate Rocky in the bad way. Rocky hits the shoulder breaker then goes up top and hits a flying crossbody. Mankind rolls through and gets him with the mandible claw 8 minutes in. Eh 2 stars.

Match #3

Gauntlet Match

Ahmed Johnson Vs The Nation Of Domination

If Ahmed wins the Nation must disband. Ahmed gets a big cheer on his way to the ring. Monsoon wanders out to tell the Nation that only the guy currently in the ring can be there and everyone else has to wait in the back for their turn. Crush is up first. Nothing special Crush misses a heartpunch and Ahmed rolls him after a spin heel kick. Savio is next. This is the highpoint of the match. Savio gets mad and hits Ahmed with a chair drawing a dq. Faarooq takes advantage of the injured Johnson who hits a pearl river plunge but Faarooq kicks out!!!??? Ahmed couldn't followup with a pinfall attempt fast enough. Faarooq clips Ahmed and gets the dominator and the win. Ill go 2 stars. The crowd was into it.

Match #4

Submission Match

Vader Vs Ken Shamrock

Shamrock making his WWF debute here. He's working stiff with the kicks. He even legitimatley hurts Vader's ankle during the match. Somebody should of told him to go easy with the submission holds. Vader drops him with a short clothesline that makes the crowd ooohh then he suplexes him outside hard and the crowd booes. Vader's got a busted nose. Vader misses a moonsault and Shamrock mounts the comeback finishing with the ankle lock that makes Vader limp out to the backroom with help from the ref. 2 1/2 for stiffness.

Match #5

World Heavyweight Champiohship Match

The Undertaker Vs Stone Cold Steve Austin

Hart Foundation has bought front row seats specifically for this match and haven't been at ringside until now. Undertaker controls first. Austin goes outside and pulls Pillman over the railing and beats the piss out of him. Taker beats him up too and throws him back into his seat. Stone Cold fights back and Austin goes to work on the leg. Austin wraps UT's leg around the post and then flips off the Hart Foundation. Austin works the leg and uses an STF for uniqness. JR burns Lawler saying if he got out of Memphis more he might see more wrestling moves, ouch. Taker fights back. Taker tries the ropewalk and Austin drops him on the top rope. Taker tries a sleeper but Austin breaks with a jawbreaker. Austin kicks Taker low and Taker hits him low to a cheer. Austin manages a stunner, but Brian Pillman runs over and rings the bell so Hebner doesn't count. Taker up and he goes for the tombstone, Austin reverses for his own, but Undertaker reverses AGAIN and hits it this time for the pin to retain at 20:06. Hart Foundation jump the rail and beat the snot out of the champ. Austin knocks Bret out of his wheelchair and takes his crutches to attack the Foundation. Austin stuns Taker to keep in character. Ill go 3 stars.

Overall Opinion: Another forgettable IYH. I hardly ever hear anyone talk about this show. The main event was the only real good thing.

Final Score: Feels like a 3.0 to me.
