You might be thinking of an episode of Sex and the City when Miranda calls to order Chinese food and the girl laughs (presumably at Miranda). Miranda gets offended and thinks the girl is giggling at her for being a lonely, single woman and goes down to the restaurant to confront her.

She gets down there and sees that the girl just tends to giggle while taking the phone orders. While there, she runs into Steve (they had already broken up). He's friendly and asks her to stay and eat with him.
