Why are folks taking this movie so seriously?

Maybe we should give this film a break and look at it in a different light. This was, after all, the first time Duane Martin had actually written an action film. As he is mostly known for his comedic acting, I do not think that this was supposed to be a serious action film. I think the story line, albeit cliched, was supposed to be heavily sprinkled with humor. The acting and the overall writing appears to be geared toward humor. This would explain the tongue in cheek fight scenes, chase scenes and blow-up scenes that some folks allude to as being unbelievable or "ridiculous". I think this film was supposed to be somewhat of a parody of the action film genre, except that the super PI and his Ride or Die chick gets the bad guys/girls in the end.

I see a lot of similarity between this film and Low Down Dirty Shame, don't you?
