Why is the kid wearing a Slipknot shirt?
People who listen to Slipknot don't travel back in time to save Orphans during World War II.

The Slipknot shirt, the hair, and the Quicksilver shirt were deliberate anachronisms. "Low budget" doesn't mean that the director could not afford clothing. The clothing and the hair style were purposely modern to show the difference in years. Why did he wear a light weight synthetic jacket? These are surely not tramp clothes. They are modern clothes worn by any school-aged kid. JC
I know they aren't. It was a joke because I know how the costumes and stuff came about and you're right it was because it was low budget.
sharehow old were Matthew and Charlotte when they made this movie and how old are they now?
Drama is LAW & ORDER only on TNT
hello this is Charlotte Wakefield (May)
Was just reading your post and i thought i might answer.
I (charlotte) am 15 (16 in october) and was 10 (turned 11 half way through filming) when i made the film.
As for Matthew well he was 12 when he made the film so he must be...about17/18!
We both really enjoyed making the film!
hope to be hearing from you soon

Charlotte,
I was up late last night and serendipitously happened upon An Angel for May. I live in New Jersey (USA) and saw it on the Starz network. I cannot tell you enough how much I enjoyed the movie (I cannot stop thinking about it and telling everyone I know about it) and the excellent performances of all the actors, especially of you and Matthew. I certainly hope to see more great performances from you in the future.
Now I must find the DVD online so I can watch it over and over again.

Hello, Its Charlotte Wakefield. Its always interesting to read through comments from people who have watched and hopefully enjoyed the film!. I was 10 when we initially started filming in late August 2001. I did however turn 11 in the October of that year. I am now 17 and, although i am still in the TV and film business i am now very involved in the theatre side of things. Although i cannot speak for Matthew personally, I am sure he will agree with me that all your comments are extremely appreciated!
Thank you.

Guess you can't take a joke.
Another reply for the "completely missed the point" files.
And yes, people who would travel back in time probably do wear Gucci, or maybe Ralph Lauren. Mr. Know-it-All.
I can take a joke just fine thanks. When they make sense and are funny...
And as for "And yes, people who would travel back in time probably do wear Gucci, or maybe Ralph Lauren. Mr. Know-it-All."; give me strength.. I'm not even going to dignify that with a response. Even you must know it's possibly one of the dumbest statements imaginable...

Beautifully said, ollie501. Beautifully said.
shareThanks... I do my best!
shareNo, no, you are all missing the point. People who _know_ they will be travelling in time are very careful about their clothing. They generally check out old episodes of 'Doctor Who' before embarking on their journeys. As for those caught unawares,well...they just have to make their temporal peregrinations in whatever they happened to have on. Tom might have been more careful with his wardrobe on his second visit had it not occurred to him that the (likely addled) May might not recognize him in any other garb. He was a thoughtful lad, after all.
shareI think you might all consider this: That a slipknot and quicksilver are things that easily go from one position to the other, just as Tom did through time.
Dictionary references:
Slipknot: 1. A knot made with a loop so that it slips easily along the rope or cord around which it is tied. 2. A knot made so that it can readily be untied by pulling one free end. In both senses also called running knot.
Quicksilver: Unpredictable; mercurial: “a quicksilver character, cool and willful at one moment, utterly fragile the next”
Could it be that the director actually was pensive in his decision to have such terms so blatantly obvious, as on a t-shirt that we see in nearly every scene? I think so.
