Your Favourite.......... ..

I was just wondering, who your favourite character(s) is in The Royal is and why?

I think mine has got to be Dr Jill Weatherill, because she's the only woman doctor in the hospital!!

i like matron cos she reminds me of my grandmother! and i like jill cos she's femenist and lizzie cos she's so dizzy ;) and sister b co she's so nice, and meryl cos she's like my big sister, so all the women in the programme really! though i have to admit that gordon is a cute father figure and mr rose is hysterical!

I love Frankie cos I think he's sooo good looking. I loike Matron cos she's a kickass old lady! I like Sister B cos nuns amuse me and she's surprisingly assertive for a nun! I like Dr weatherill cos she's a true 60's feminist. I like Lizzie and Ken cos they're a cool family. I like Alun cos I think that he and Lizzie would eb a cool couple. I like Dr. Goodwin cos he's very funny and a great doctor and he always stands up for people. I don't like Dr Omerod cso he sighs too much for my liking!

I like most of them, except Frankie & Jeff, who are to arrogant for my liking. I think Gordon is my favourite as he is really sweet and caring (and gorgeous!!!)

There are lots of great characters, though my favourites would have to be Jill and Gordon. Their love story has been so touching and well acted by Robert D and Amy R.

Incidentally, I think Robert D is lovely!

OOOOOOOH MATRON!

Jill is my favorite, she is a very strong woman, and seems like such
a caring person (character). Amy plays her part so well..especially in the last episode "Love and Loss". Oh and Gordon, love him! So sweet and loving, and his family means everything to him. He's my father-figure, which sounds silly, but its true.

I, like most others here, have several favourites, a few of my favourites are no longer there: Dr David Cheriton, Staff Nurse Meryl Taylor and Mr Middleditch. Hmm...I like all the other characters too...Ohhh and Mr Rose - he's just a classic! :-)

Matron - old lady energy!!!
Mr Rose - just look at him! And listen...
Mr Middletich - symphatetic and humourous, one of those Dumbledore-characters

They are dreadful unrealistic caricatures, sadly played by actors some who previously had good careers. Presumably they perform in this sort of pastiche because it pays better and is not so demanding as touring Plays in regional UK theatres which I guess is the other sort of work sometimes available to them.

My favourite was Samantha Beaumont - such a beautiful young woman.

I also loved Lizzy - aka Dizzy Lizzy. The situations she got herself into were hilarious. I think that in the early 1970s, Lizzie must have married a builder named Ronald Steel, moved to London and gave birth to a son - Howard Steel, from The Worst Week of My Life.
