We use to have seasons in iceland ireland, thailand and so on this season we get wisconsin and some *beep* island off the us coast. we use to get amazing dates of paragliding, las vegas show works, climbing down sky skrapers. now we get hot dog dates with ghetto chicks. worst season ever.

Actually it was the bachelor/ette who asked for less elborate dates early on. The elaborate dates lead to the contestants getting to know each other less especially the adrenaline junky dates.

Well that does make sense. Everything shouldn't be so over the top.

I dont think the budget is down so much as the same producers dont want to be out of the country as long. The same people tend to film all 3 shows so they likely want the less intrusive travel times. The show is the highest rated ABc show right now and just by being reality is cheaper than most on its own. I doubt they had to reduce the budget.
