how broke?

I just saw this poetic movie about the demise of Maria Schell and find it quite moving. Not a masterpiece, but pretty good.

I know, this might border on irrelevance, but since so much private detail was laid open in this "documentary", I am curious how her financial situation really was? When Maximilian Schell asks "how many million (meaning debt)" the questioned person writes a figure on a piece of paper and hands it to Maximilian, who looks at least surprised, maybe even shocked (the scene was clearly staged, but anyway). To me it looked like the amount written down was a 2-figure-amount in Austrian Schillings, but it was never revealed how much it was. If anybody knows the amount, I´d be curious to learn, thanx!
