local accents

We've watched many, many programs and films from the UK and find the accents in this series interestingly different. Can anyone say what local brogue (hope that's the proper term) they're speaking in? And, does each area of London have it's own? They're all lovely to our American ears and we never tire of listening to them. Wonder what we sound like to them? Hope it's not like a bunch of hicks!
