Was there a particular reason that India selected Devdas over Kannathil Muthamittal to submit for the Oscars? Because this movie was, in my opinion, one of the best Indian movies period. There is a reason that this movie won and was the highlight at the Los Angeles film festival, and a winner of the Jerusalem Film festival, and winner of various awards from the US,England, and Africa. This movie was appreciated around the world and not just in India. Of course, a good movie does not necessarily need to win prestigous awards to be great, but I still believe that the seletion process was unfair.

they think Hindi movies are much superior and they always favor those films for no reason!

Wasn't Hey Ram India's choice to send to the Oscars once? But I do agree that this deserved to go more than Devdas did.

It's probably because of the amount of money they spent on Devdas. This one should've been submitted though, I agree.

This should have been selected. I think they picked Devdas because it was in Hindi and most people thought more visually stunning. But Kannathil Muthamittal should have been chosen!
