Watched it with the wife...

and then apologized to her for taking up an hour and fourty-five minutes of her life she'll never get back. The movie seemed to be going in the right direction up until the Frankenfurter scene. (What was all that about?) It seemed like the movie lost direction at that point. The director could have found a better way to get his point across. Instead, it seemed like he didn't know how to end it and said, "ah hell, lets just do this and worry about it later."

I watched this with a friend of mine and when that scene came on, we looked at each other and said "Frankenfurter?!?". Good to know we weren't the only ones.

reply

Yes! During that scene I was thinking "Cross between Rocky Horror and Clockwork Orange"

reply

Um yes. That scene is as far as we were able to get as well. It got hard to stomach after shiny shoe guy crushed the kitten with his boot. This film held very little merit to me.

My thoughts exactly ...Frankenfurter and ultra-violence...this movie is really strange...one of those wtf movies some parts I couldn't watch because it was too gruesome but kinda glad I watched it makes you think...and makes you want to watch more movies that are like these not neccessarily horror/violent but movies that make you think.

i liked that scene and weirdly it didnt disturb me in the slightest. genesis reminded me quite alot of jim carrey.

reply

=O!!! DONT COMPARE HIM TO... the *RIDDLER*!
=]jokes~

but seriously, jim carrey rulez

I like movies that make you think...Like this movie does. The "ultra-violence" distracts many people from the point of the movie and its message. I think that some people have trouble finding meaning in something when you are so distracted by incredibly brutal scenes of suicide and violence as teenage girls so willingly throw their lives away. It really conflicts with your rationality, survival instincts and what you believe is true.

reply

I think that's the best scene in the movie.
Have some appreciation for the wild goose chase...

reply

lol...That wasn't even close to the wild goose chase. That was more like the crazy goose chase. I was just wondering if he ran out of material and said, "Hey, I saw this in a movie once, lets stuff that in there."

I'm pondering the immortal words of Socrates who said, "I drank what?"

What, graphic horror movies don't get to have awesome musical numbers? Don't know what planet you're on but that nearly merits the whole movie for me.

I'm feeling kind of punk. Maybe cause its good not great. - Mission of Burma

I thought it was good & was really going somewhere until that bowling alley scene, then I lost all interest. To me, that's where the movie started to fall apart.

reply

Yeah me too...

Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son.

I actually liked the scene. It was a break from the weird explosion suicides even though it was gruesome. I watched it with a friend which isn't as awkward but she was confused by the ?rape? scene. She was they were acting out a flying thing on drugs.
It was a rape scene right? Or is my mind just too in the gutter?
