The film starts off well enough, but then it gets more convoluted and confusing as the film approaches the end. By the time the credits roll, it's a huge mess. One of the most frustrating viewing experiences I've had with a film.
shareIt is a film about Japanese culture and very specific Japanese problems told with very extreme images. It is probably very confusing or probably impossible to understand anything about this film when you don't know about Japanese culture. Sorry that you could not enjoy!
shareYes, this is a very tough film to "get" especially on the first viewing. I've watched it twice now and have only begun to understand it more, thanks to some of the posters on this board actually. I'd suggest reading some of them and then going back and watching again, and then it will make a lot more sense.
