Anatomie 2 DVD language tracks

The Dutch r2 release has English subtitles and a German 5.1 soundtrack.

Isn't that why michael_ljung would know what he is talking about..

In Finland every movie (except kid's movies) are subtitled and because Finland is bi-lingual - they are subtitled to Finnish and Swedish (for instance: in movies there are both languages visible). But I haven't heard anyone complaining about their eyes or that these movies should be dubbed..

It is the other way round. There are people who are really pissed because (to mention a few) Charlie and the Chocolade Factory and Herbie: Fully Loaded were dubbed. And I am one of them. If Johnny Depp makes really great efford of being Willy Wonka it doesn't give him much appreciation that someone else does his movie in Finnish (and how should this be done with the Swedish speaking audience - maybe personal headphones to all *g*).

So:
Please get this on DVD that has the German audio. And please don't even try to dub it to any language since it costs money and I don't want to pay for it.

I find the foreign dubbing issue to be totally one-sided:

In America, when dubbing a foreign film, the cheapest voice actors are highered and are therefore among the least experienced, and often lack the talent posessed by professional actors cast to perform in something like "Toy Story" (Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, etc.). Also, it's quite rare that foreign films are actually imported to English-speaking territorries, even rarer that they're dubbed and giving any promotional attention like "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" or "Kung Fu Hustle," so it's not like people are intensely competing for these dubbing jobs. (I think one reason for lack of American interest in foreign films is because most Americans are uncultured and couldn't care less about learning about a foreign cultur where people use an alternate form of speech for polite address or dip their fries in mayo.)

In other countries American films tend to dominate the box offices. Almost ALL American films are imported to a given country, so there's a LOT of oportunity for dub-work, giving rise to many very talented voice actors. (I once heared a German woman say that her favourite voice actor is the one who usually dubs Tom Selleck's voice.) And in countries like Japan where animation is very popular among children and adults, the voice acting industry is much stronger and better polished.

I absolutely hate watching foreign films dubbed in English because it always sounds goofy and amateur or as if the voice actors don't care at all about their roles, but I enjoy watching American films dubbed in other languages. I frequently buy American films from Amazon Germany because it's a great way to keep up on my German and German dubbing usually sounds really well performed, like an English-language Disney cartoon does. (By the way, there's a Disney Voice Acting Agency in Japan, and maybe in Germany too, which casts those talented dubbers.)

I just watched this movie dubbed into Italian and it sounded like an average romantic comedy. All American movies look like romantic comedies when in Italian dub versions, be it a horror movie, a thriller or a drama.
