The character Meg Ryan plays is real.Not sure about the boxer Omar played or the events that unfolded in the movie though

Omar is a composite of James Lights Out Toney, Thomas Herns and Bronco McKart.

The Real Jackie Kallen will be on that new reality Boxing show in November , "The Contender".They started tapings August 16.
She's one of the judges with Stallone and Sugar Ray Leonard.
