A better Jackie?

I think Drew Barrymore should have been Jackie because she would have worked hard for the part. Who has an opinion?

I believe Meg did a fine job.

Since I knew nothing of Jackie Kallen before this movie, it is hard to render an opinion as to whether or not Ryan's casting was appropriate, but I will admit that everytime Meg started using boxing terminology I wanted to snicker...it just sounded ridiculous coming out of her mouth.

I really enjoy this movie, I call it one of my guilty pleasures. There's just something so uplifting about it, through all it's cliches. I enjoy Ryan in it, but were they ever to make an actual movie about Jackie Kallen's life, which is far more complex than the film, then I think Uma Thurman would do great. She could do the accent and pull of the 80's which is the time period in which this really happened (see Hysterical Blindness). She's also around the perfect age.
