Is his voice done in simpletext? It sounds like "fred" from simpletext.

Yup, they changed his voice for the new season. I guess they made it so that he would have a younger voice. However, it is kind of stupid because they changed it dramaticaly and it is very noticable.

Like anything I just said even matters.
I assume it's still Bobby Block doing the voice? I've been wondering about the change, and just checked the ROBOT JONES page here at IMDB to confirm why the voice was different. IMHO it sounds stupid, because Robot sounds too much like a normal kid now, and not as much like a robot.

no they ruined the old episodes. a machine voice trying to be angry saying things like "i hate europeans they stink and take our women" that was hallarious. now he sounds whinney and annoying. they ruined the show.

To be honest I loved everything about this show, especially the retro style, until they changed his voice. I feel like it completely ruined it. If they had started the series with the second voice it might not have been so bad, but I had grown to like the mechanical voice. It made him seem like an older, simpler character - which, as a robot new to school-life, he was.
