Anyone else think this should have been picked up as a series?

I personally enjoyed this pilot. I think Cartoon Network should have picked it up as a series.

Anyone else have the same feeling towards it?

Yes, the show should have been picked up. I can't believe this was dropped in favor of $hit like the Oblongs.

I totally agree. There's even an "All your base are belong to us" on the wall of the theater that they go to.

reply

Yes. The show could've continually have great insights into geek culture.

The pilots on tonight and Im really liking it im writing them an email.

I found it cliche and pointless. Every last joke made in this show has been done somewhere else and better. To me it seemed like a nerdier version of the clerks animated series... and no where near as good.

agreed doovidooves. Im into the whole sci-fi horror rpg world (although im not huge on comic books, but i dont hold anything against them), but this just seemed bland and generic. The guys were poorly thought up hardcore stereotypes.

It was part of that whole animated series bandwagon that started in 2000. This show was like so many before it and was no where near as good as most of its fellow shows. Im surprised Adult Swim even showed it again.

Maybe it hit too close to home for you guys. I thought it was hilarious. I haven't had good laugh like that in a while. I'm sad that it wasn't picked up for a series.

On the contrary blond, it's that the show didn't hit home. I'm great at laughing at myself, but this show didn't capture at all what I see as the sci-fi gaming comic book culture that I've grown to be a part of.

Evan dorkin had some good ideas for more episodes too?Oh what would have been if only it got picked up.

reply

This and "Lucy: Daughter of the Devil" should've both been picked up. If 12 oz Mouse could become a show as well as Squidbillies, so could this. I thought it was funny!

I wish this had gotten picked up. It's damn sure a lot funnier than most of the crap they run on Adult Swim these days.

reply

Yeah, I agree. This show was definitely great enough to get picked up.

Adult Swim has certainly had worse shows in its line up. Through out this entire pilot I was simply laughing my ass off. This seriously would have been a great seres to put on.

WTF was Cartoon Network thinking?

I loved this episode. As far as the stereotype goes.... Yea it's a stereotype but that's what makes it funny if it were realistic and not embellished at all it would be dudes sitting in a basement playing d&d and watching nudie tapes. The extremes are what make it hilarious. I love the horror/sci-fi/comic world and I thought it was an awesome show the trivia-off was awesome just a funny show... Did anyone else think Willoughby the Wannabe sounded like David Cross when he's doing his kid in Afghanistan talking about how mines look like pudding cups??? Anyway good show it's a shame that all we have is this pilot to watch over and over
