"Mr. Monk Goes Back To School":
[Monk is not happy with the measurements. So he tries mixing the two pots together while trying to even them out]
Derek Philby: Excuse me, what are you doing?
Adrian Monk: Oh - um... just making them even.
Derek Philby: [highly amused at the little display] But you're mixing the regular with the decaf!
Adrian Monk: But they're even.
Derek Philby: But they're mixed together.
Adrian Monk: But they're - they're even.

Mistaking the outhouse for a phone booth at the rock concert. A seemingly endless amount of time just waiting for him to come back out of there, all the while the music gets increasingly (but subtly) less harmonic, slowly feeling more awkward and sour.
The obtuse bass lines that play delicately underneath, while Monk is being mentally tortured (in every episode), is one of the really fantastic things about this show. I absolutely love the music when Monk is thinking or can't think straight.
I mean, in that case ("Mr. Monk Goes to a Rock Concert"), I like the fact that the music gets increasingly suspenseful, as if a body's going to fall out, and then Monk emerges. Then a few moments later, Monk and Natalie are starting to walk by a different port-a-potty, where the actual body is.

shareThe best Monk moment was when he met Molly. Sweet and heartbreaking at the same time.
shareMonk screaming at the bear is great. I also love the subtle ones. The first time he meets Harold Krenshaw in The Girl who Cried Wolf, they went back and forth straightening out Dr Kroger's magazine rack. Monk shot Harold a little sideways glance that turned into a burning death stare that I'd never seen before. He ends up shouting at him "I'LL SEE YOU IN HELL!" and needed Dr Kroger to pull them apart. Over a few magazines. So good.

Though not so much a comedic moment, I liked the bit in Mr. Monk Is on the Air.
I just felt quite proud of Monk when Max Hudson started making fun of Trudy, and Monk just jumped on him and started smacking him about.
Monk may not have been as witty or articulate as the radio host, or couldn't have sounded as cool when on air. But you insult the woman he loves, he puts you in your place.
I loved it when Monk gave Max Hudson the beatdown he so deserved. Wasn't it fun to see Tony Shalhoub beating the daylights out of Steven Weber? The only thing which would have made this episode better would have been Crystal Bernard guest starring.

shareFunniest moment: When Monk is in the dentist chair.
Most dramatic moment: Willie Nelson and Monk playing ,Always On My Mind, at Trudy's grave.
Art makes the disturbed comfortable and the comfortable disturbed.
Good stuff, but I think the funniest Monk scene is one that did not involve Adrian Monk at all. That would be when Lt. Randy Disher went to his dentist's office with the intent of removing his (Disher's) photo from where it was hanging on the doctor's wall.
If you recall that scene, you will recall a sublime moment of humor when Randy begins an epic struggle with the wall of pictures. It seems that his pic, the one he is trying to remove, refuses to budge. As he continues to struggle, one picture after another fall to the floor; but Randy's picture will not budge.
Finally, Disher has to destroy that wall to get his picture back.

If you ever get a chance to listen to the DVD commentary, the photo was supposed to come down a lot sooner, when Randy gave the picture a good hard pull. What you saw after that was totally improvised, as was the doctors reaction to the situation. They just went with it.
shareFor me, the best Monk moment has to be in 'MR Monk and the panic room' when Adrain walks in and, for a moment, he doesn't realize that Darwin is there. The reaction is just brilliant when Dr Kroger is there, and Adrian wipes the juice off the counter, and hands the glass to him.
Then again, I like Stottlemeyer's scene with Darwin in the same episode, when he's trying to get Darwin to shoot him.
"I am alone with my sheep. My sheep are not alone with me." As time goes by.
Not so much a comedy moment, but one of the best Monk lines is in the last episode "Tonight...I am the judge!"
shareI cannot disagree with the "chews or pees on...chews or pees on" scene. That was hilarious.
The scene with the Captain telling the FBI guy that they were going with the guy in the coma was awfully fun.
Anything with Harold and Monk disagreeing, though...I think those were my favorites.
