All three are miles above Dreamworks Animation that's for sure. I love Shrek and Shrek 2 but Shark Tale and Madagascar? Blech

Women, you can't live with 'em and you can't have heterosexual sex without 'em.

Aardman...hand animation has more depth than CGI, IMHO.

Definately would have to be Aardman. The stop-motion animation takes more effort AND cash. So they put a lot of stuff behind the making of the film.

Both.

Oh dear Chrysler, I love both animation companies FTW. However, I must say that Pixar clings to me like tape. I'm such a huge fan of Pixar. :D

Aardman - the quality is higher and there's much more originality in the scripts.

I love Aardman, but their style of animation is a lot more painstaking and so they're not as prolific in terms of feature-length films as Pixar. I'd say Pixar gets it by the nose, but only because they've created 7 feature-length films, while Aardman have far more (very well made, though) short animations (but I can see why - it took 5 years to make this film!). That said, Aardman are far more reliable in terms of quality than Pixar. I didn't think much of Cars, but I knew that Wallace and Gromit: the Curse of the Were-Rabbit would be brilliant.

As for Studio Ghibli, I agree that they also make very good films. You're always guaranteed, if nothing else, visually breathtaking films (although they do also have very good storylines, quite more morally charged than the animated films that come out of the States). I'm thrilled that they're still making films by traditional hand-drawn methods and haven't sold out on them like Disney did.

Aardman now and forever!

Hmmm, for me it's a very close race. Both are amazingly clever. (Or were ...)
I'd have to give it to Aardman though, because I personally enjoy British humour and characterisation more than American.

And the saddest bit: both companies are a long way from their glory days.
I don't think Aardman has ever recovered from its disastrous flirtation with Dreamworks, and Pixar has been increasingly crap since it got sucked into the Disney machine.

Such a shame.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
