He gets yelled at, shoved around, publicly scorned, blamed, and ignored. I felt bad for him. It's as though Vincent's friends blame Benjamin for Vincent finally acknowledging his homosexuality.

Check your private messages. - Benjamin admitted that his momentary carelessness outed Vincent. What I really liked about the movie was how Noemie and Stephane overcame their personal feelings and, once they realized that Vincent needed Benjamin and that Benjamin was okay, colluded to bring V and B back together. I have replayed the scene where Stephane brings Vincent to reconcile with Benjamin many times - slowing the dvd to catch the exchange of glances between Stephane and Vincent. Great stuff!
