i don't get why imdb says it's called "try seventeen", i guess it was what it was originally supposed to be called but whatever.

Try Seventeen is the original title; it got changed for whatever reason to All I Want for video release.

All of the movie was going to be made in Canada and the name of the movie was gunna be 'Try Seventeen'.
They decided to only do part of the movie in Canada and part of it in America so they couldn't keep a Canadian name.
So whne the movie was released in America...they named it 'All I Want' and when the movie was released in Canada...they named it 'Try Seventeen'. You ppl are probably thinking I'm lieing but I'm not...I was an extra in the film.
Well, the Canadian and American versions of the film are exactly the same. How can it be called Try 17 in Canada and All I Want in the states? I live in Canada, and I own the DVD, and it says All I Want on the cover. All Canadian and American DVD's are the same. North America is Region 1 in DVD encoding.

when i saw it at the toronto film festival it was called "Try 17"... i guess technically that was what the theatrical release was (going to be) called and since it went straight to video that's what the video title is... a lot of movies are listed here as one title and then released as a different title.
for example:
Complicity (2000) ... aka Retribution (2000) (video title)
Men Seeking Women (1997) ... aka Bet, The (1997) (USA)
Catchfire (1989) ... aka Backtrack (1991) (USA: TV title (director's cut))
I'm fairly certain they just leave the original title unless it's renamed and then theatrically released.
Try Seventeen makes much more sense in respects to the movie than the title it was given. The character even says, "try seventeen" in the movie. oh well.
sharei wish they'd kept the name "Try Seventeen". i live in Vancouver and got to meet Elijah while he was filming this. i didn't like how they changed it to All I Want... but i guess its more fitting because he's trying to figure out what it is he wants. not how hes trying to loose his virginity after 17 years.
i guess because it was an especially racey film, they didn't want to add to it for it's title to be based on sex. i also wish i was still called Try Seventeen because i got a filming crew sign that says "SEVENTEEN". its super cool!
i prefer try seventeen as well. i just rented the VHS version of it. and it's all packaged and stuff as All I Want. but at the very end after all the credits and what not it says TRY SEVENTEEN. i thought that was cool.

shareYeah, Try Seventeen is a much better title. I hate it when films have two titles, it p***es me off. Like with Animal Attraction (which IS it's title!) it was called something else too, and I got SOO confused. This is totally irrelevant, but I loved this film so much and Elwood is so hot!
