Why couldn't more made for TV movies be as good as this one?

Usually I go for the bad ones on occasion because they have some mindless action, something that takes your mind off of things for a while and just sit back and watch the random fireballs and explosions but Storm Watch/Code Hunter is actually really good. The story deals with a computer hacker who plays pretty much addictingly to a computer game which is also an virtual reality online chat forum as well. Through this game he is blackmailed into stealing some lines of code from an supercomputer and is on the run from the FBI trying to find out who exactly this person is who blackmailed him and what exactly he stole. The story is put out convincingly and though there are several bland moments... (the Secret Service agent getting nervous over the news anchor telling him about her rights and Nick Chase's mother) but that all has to go through the usual B-Movie fare while the rest of it creates characters you actually care about which is quite rare in a B-Movie!

I started watching this movie expecting it to be a cheap and poorly acted B picture and I was really pleasantly surprised - it was a lot of fun and well worth seeing.

They should do follow up XXX add ons, with the little chinajap chic doing it with the hacker star inside the game, then the news reporter lady boinking the secret service guy to get away scott free, and the blonde Brit boinking the general, and the Mom, she can do the young ethnic game player friend.
Then it would be a good movie, and the corny dialogue would actually seem to fit , or be understandably present.
