Why's it called Pieces of April?

I figure maybe the pieces refer to her family, idk. When I saw this I immediately was lost what was going on.

The title comes from a Three Dog Knight song. I think it might be intended to refer to her family as well as the people who help her out throughout the film. But I never thought too deeply about it.

I think it also refers to the scene in the car when her mother was trying to remember nice memeories of April in here childhood. I think the father actually uses the phrase pieces of April.
