One of the BEST movies about family.

Don't let the poster confuse you.

I absolutely agree. Just re-watched this for the first time in years, and am in tears. Warm, happy tears though! Just such a perfect movie, with a uniformly brilliant cast.

I agree. I'm in my late 40s and started watching this film by chance a few years ago. If I'd judged it by the poster I doubt I'd have thought it was a movie for me at all. It's one of my favorites now. So touching. Katie Holmes is wonderful in it. They should show Patricia Clarkeson in the background so we "older people" know it's something we'd like. I'm sure that poster puts off a lot of potential viewers, which is a shame.

Please paint something cool today...Don't paint the sun anymore!

Agree 100%. I saw it for the first time last week and was blown away. Excellent acting by all involved.

I agree. Just re-watched it and it made me cry happy tears. I'm so glad the family put their snobby pretentious ways aside and gave April another chance (probably the last time all would be together otehr than a funeral)

It is perfection.

Magnificent on so many levels.

I wouldn't mind seeing it again. I think I caught it on commercial TV and not at the very beginning.
Not a seamless masterpiece, but I liked that it showed a different economic strata and tried to convey human warmth in a not cozy setting.
And while I'm not fond of the heavy mascara look, a lot of young women go that route and I know they are trying to appeal to me. I presume there is more going on than just the mascara.
