Does this soundtrack include the songs by the salvation army rock band?

reply

Yes it does. The salvation army band is known as "Marko Haavisto ja Poutahaukat" in real life. The soundtrack contains "Paha vaanii" (from the trailer and their first real gig in the movie), "Thunder and lightning" (I've got no idea what this is) and "Stay" (which can be heard during the credits).

If it's just Marko Haavisto ja Poutahaukat you want, try finding the CD "Lamppu palaa". It includes "Paha vaanii", "Stay" and lots of other great songs. One of my favourite bands :)

(and excuse me for my bad english...)

"Paha Vaanii" is really great. As soon as I heard it in the trailer, "The Man Without a Past" turned to be the movie I most wanted to see that time...
And it is now my second favourite movie... (it's just not better than the perfect "Le Fabuleux Destin D'Amélie Poulain")

I liked Amelie a lot, but it kind of gives me sugar shock, this one's a little more to my tastes....

"Thunder & Lightning" is "Myrskyn Keskellä" in English...

Marko Haavisto ja Poutahoukat CDs are impossible to find in the States. I tried. I also tried Sweden (I have a friend there), Germany and the UK (Amazon)...I ended up ordering them from Swamp Music in Tampere, Finland, who do mail order. I got "Lamppu Palaa" and "Täydellinen Maailma" from there and I LOVE them.

They cost a lot to order from Finland...but they were so very worth it.

Myrskyn keskellä? Where does that play? I know it's on "Kauas Pilvet Karkaavat", but I didn't catch it on this movie. GREAT song though :)

It's surprisingly hard to find Marko Haavisto ja Poutahaukat from Finland too... I've found Lamppu Palaa and Täydellinen maailma easily, but that's it. I've heard some excellent songs from the first album (named after the band), but after a year of searching I still haven't found a copy of it :(

Has Swamp music got a website? I've been to the real store a couple of times, and the selection there is quite good...

Thank you! I really like the guitarist in the band - his use of the tremolo is very Hank Marvin-esque.

This is the third symphony by Finnish composer Leevi Madetoja.

Does anyone know which song is played in the cafeteria scene, where he asks for a cup of water? It does not seem to be on the soundtrack. Kiitos.
