This was not "the one" for a martial arts feast. However it is a rehash of what other plots have tried: alternate life forms in a parallel universe. It was kind of like "Back to the Future" but wasn't funny or entertaining.

If Jet Li starts doing flicks like these, he will end up like the box office loser, Jean Claude Van Damme. He will fade away.
