I have watched a lot of movies lately (retired and a widower) and it was very refreshing to finally see a movie of this brilliance. The supporting cast was just fantastic, and ultimate kudos go to Christine Lahti for an absolutely unbeatable performance. This movie had me captivated throughout. I was disappointed that 47 voters (as of this writing) gave it an average of only 6.4. Since the screenplay and acting was so great, I wish I could have given it a vote of 11, but alas, the limit is 10.

I totally agree with you; this is a brilliant film. Acting, directing, and cinematically. HBO makes such wonderful films; Joe Sargent is an actors director and that shows in the performances. Saw Something The Lord Made, directed by Joe Sargent..it's WONDERFUL...!

Yes, I agree wonderful film. Especially since it was her true life story.

Christine Lahti was outstanding, i know it was a TV movie but that was an Oscar winning performance

I agree! This movie is a very intense, but very well done cinematic experience! I also give it an 11.

Hated it. 1/10

I had to see what country made this piece of tripe. USA.

I could not sympathize with the main character. Couldn't stand her.

There are so many better movies: Schindler's List, Grey List, A Boy Named David,The Pianist, etc.

Do you mean "Grey Zone"? What is "A Boy Named David", it is not on file here.

That's funny ... he names 4 movies as better and gets half wrong ... kinda takes the sheen of the ol credibility I would say!

I think he meant to say "A Boy Named David" which I found to be very impressive!

I thought the movie was great. If you look back behind my comment there are only 2 that hated it and the rest thought it was great. That alone speaks volumes. Pretty much comments are in favor for the movie. Sure it wasnt some block buster movie but it was about what happened not with all the back drops and high profile actors to play the parts. It told a story and thats all that matters.

I dislike movies with all those flash backs, other than that it was a good movie.

I can see you sitting on your chair ... during some of the most poignant moments of the film (tricked into sending pregnant mothers to their death ... killing new born ... mother of twins shot in head ... and the grueling interview) yelling at your TV ... "Come on GD ... get a hold of yourself ... ya blithering idiot!"

She really had such a mundane life ...
