Life Sorta Imitating Art

I guess Cameron Douglas sorta just played himself in this movie. Shoulda seen it coming...on another thread here, Cameron Douglas is described as a degenerate. I've read elsewhere that he is a narcissitic, selfish prick. But then again, most of Hollywood is like that, so why shouldn't the sons and daughters of Hollywood be the same?

So what's the deal...was Daddy not forthcoming with any money? Or simply not enough money? Was Cameron simply supporting his habit? He's actually getting off easy for moving the kinda weight he was and using the USPS, FedEx, and UPS to get his stuff.

I totally agree. This movie takes on a whole new significance now with everything that has happened since it was made. I actually liked the movie when it came out. Nothing groundbreaking, but watchable and entertaining. I kinda had a little crush on Cameron when I saw this. He is extremely cute, though the drugging and jail obviously make him a douchbag. I hope he uses this as an opportunity to get it together, particularly with this father so ill.

Remember, also, that in the film "Traffic", Michael Douglas played the US drug czar with a daughter who developed a heavy drug addiction. Very strange...and sad.

But yes, one wonders what Cameron Douglas was thinking, selling and transporting drugs to such a degree. I know he had a bad habit of his own, but he risked (and indeed lost) a lot if he was selling drugs only to support his own addiction. Or was it also about money? I asked in my original post whether or not he was receiving money from his mother and father. Had he been cut off? Or not getting nearly enough to support his lifestyle? Perhaps Cameron sold drugs because of the rush, for the excitement one often experiences from doing something dangerous. Or was it all the above? He must have known that sending drugs through the mail, or Fed Ex, would have severe penalties, above and beyond typical drug trafficking offenses. Maybe the guy is just plain dumb. It would sure explain a lot.

His dad probably told him to get a job. It's not like he just got out of school. He's in his 30's.
