I dont feel I wasted my time, but it would be nice to know how what the end means, rather than choosing from the large amount of guesses.
I'm sorry I didn't see your reply earlier and reply sooner, but the wonderment of it is the whole hook, the movie may only be 81 minutes but the debates about what it means lasts for years! Alot of posts here have been deleted over the years, people that extracted their best analysis from the material they had to work with.
sharePersonally, I like doing my own thinking rather than letting the writers do it all for me. The ending has several possible solutions. Personally, I think the birds did it, but that's just me. I can think of at least 4 other possibilities as well, and that means that I am actively involved in the film, a rare thing with today's movies that do all your thinking for you.
shareWell, they mention that the abandoned city was built on an old Indian burial site. Birds, especially crows, were potent birds for many Indian tribes... so your theory on the birds doing it, could very possibly be correct :)
