in every movie u see him in hes always going to save it, but i vent seen istar or what ever its called but i heard thats really bad so i guess there are a few exceptions

O yeah, it goes without saying. He rocked.

He was so erratic and all over the place which is what made him so damn threatening.

He was so odd and I love it when he starts slapping Ed burns, and starts flirting with Weisz' character.

Am I the only person in the world who thought that Hoffman absolutely SUCKED in this film? He was terrible. His role in The Jury was infinately better. Even Ishtar had a better performance from him, although Confidance is a far superior movie.

He had to play an intimidating gangster here and it didn’t work because he was so much smaller than everyone else and his rain man voice is just not threatening. So, he played the character as some kind of erratic psycho pervert. It just wasn’t believable because whenever he got in someone’s face, they towered over him. Had it been real life, the larger person would have stomped him into the ground in response to him constantly putting hands on them

Previous poster mentioned Ishtar, with Warren Beatty, it was a critical flop, but not at all a bad film, check it out if you get the chance, it's certainly enjoyable and both actors were in their prime.

He can never escape Rainman. Every goddamn movie since then, that is all I can see. "I"m a very good actor"
