Ten Best Temple Runs of All-Time

The Top 10 Temple Runs of All Time. If you disagree with this, go ahead and post your own:

10. The Golden Pepperoni of Catherine de Medici- the second contestant runs into the room with the Pepperoni with :04 seconds left, then runs right past it and goes down the elevator! Her partner fell to his knees in absolute shock.
09. The Broken Trident of Poseidon- this is one of only three episodes where a person recovers the artifact without ever seeing a temple guard. However, this is lower because she ran out of time! Once she grabbed the Trident, she was startled after all the doors opened, and thus dropped it. By the time she recovered, she couldn't get out in time.
08. Henry VIII's Great Seal- this is the run where the boy was scared out of the temple. They were caught by three guards, so that's why it isn't higher.
07. The Much Heralded Helmet of Sir Gawain- the second of three Temple Runs where a player saw no Temple Guards. This time, Tiffani recovered the Helmet and made it out successfully.
06. The Secret Map of the Bandit Queen- with only one pendant, the famous Zach Turney recovered the map from the Shrine of the Silver Monkey and blazed out of the Temple.
05. The Mask of Shaka Zulu- the fastest Temple Run ever completed, but that was likely due to an unlikely production defect (this was the first season). Thus, the run is tainted just a little bit.
04. The Ruby Earring of Benzibab- the second fastest completion, and this was done as a team (not one player, as compared to Shaka Zulu). The first player was taken out pretty early, then the other kid, Kevin, raced in and completed all the objectives, got the earring, and made it out in 22 seconds. There was a full 1:02 left on the clock.
03. The Lucky Pillow of Annie Taylor- Missy, who was small in stature and nervous throughout (and didn't do that well in her Temple Game), volunteered to go first. She and her partner had a mere one pendant. She was caught by her guard early, but burst through and grabbed the pillow in Medusa's Lair. She made it out with 0:20 to go. She also became the first player ever to retrieve the artifact from the center room and successfully bring it out.
02. The Enormous Nose Ring of Babe the Ox- the third and final run where there were no Temple Guards. Joel told Kirk he could handle it, and not only saw no Temple Guards, but was forced to go the long way to get the ring. He also narrowly escaped one of the Guards who was in the Dark Forest. He made it out with 55 seconds left, plenty of time on the clock.
01. The Applewood Amulet of Emiliano Zapata- there were four wins with 0:01 second on the clock, and this is the best of those, and the best ever. Robert was taken out fairly early, so Olivia went in. She took a while, and actually missed the half-pendant, and almost couldn't find the amulet, but once she got it, there were 38 seconds left. She raced along the top rooms of the temple, and Kirk Fogg was excited the entire finish. With ten seconds, she was stuck in the Ledges, but managed to get up. She then jumped from the Ledges past Olmec and landed on her feet with 0:01 left, right before the clock went to 0:00. Literally, right as soon as her feet landed, the clock hit 0:00. In my opinion, if you land on your feet before then, it's a legitimate win. The closest win ever in Legends history.

If anybody has their own, feel free to add it.

Barely missing out are:

The Milk Bucket of Freydis, Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress, and The Cannonball of Galileo- all of the other wins with 0:01 second left.
The Mocassins of Geronimo- the Barracuda player won on a solo run, and navigated from top to bottom three separate times.
The Mussel Shell Armor of Apanukpak- the only other time the artifact was retrieved from the center of the Temple.

Now, the 10 worst Temple Runs:

10. The Golden Spider Web of Robert the Bruce- the teams were caught with thirty second to go. If the boy hadn't cheated in the Temple Games, they would have had two pendants and could have kept going.
09. The Crown of Queen Nzinga- the players were caught with 1:07 to go, one of the quicker losses ever. In their defense, the Temple guards were right next to each other, literally.
08. The Broken Wing of Icarus- I hate to put this one up, because Jason of the Green Monkeys got the Wing. However, he made two unnecessary detours in the Observatory and forced himself to go down, and didn't make it out in time.
07. The Treasure of Anne Bonny- basically the same story. Ron of the Red Jaguars took an unnecessary route and time ran out before he could get through. However, he was the only person to find the half pendant in Season 1, and needed it, because there was a third guard right above.
06. The Pendant of Kamehameha- they were caught with about a minute to go in the Dungeon. However, the guard was late to get into the room, so it is a little unfair. However, they only had one pendant anyway. Believe it or not, this is one of only two times that a team with one pendant was captured.
05. The Keys to the Alhambra- the girl on the Red Jaguars didn't know that she could go up to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, and went backwards for the rest of the run.
04. The Useless Map of the Chibcha Chieftain- the second-quickest loss ever, and the only other episode where a team with one pendant gets caught. The boy on the Orange Iguanas was captured with 1:23 to go.
03. The Walking Stick of Harriet Tubman- the boy was taken out in the Shrine, the girl ran up to the Crypt. They had 1.5 pendants. The problem: the boy started in the Ledges. Conventional wisdom says that you don't create a new path unless you have two pendants. Ryann ran up to the Crypt, and with 1:20 left, was captured by the third Temple Guard!
02. Elizabeth I's Golden Ship- the fastest loss ever. They lost with 1:30 left on the clock. If the players had moved faster, it could have been worse.
01. The Golden Cricket Cage of Khan- not only did both players enter the Temple, but they both sucked. They covered only 4 rooms in 3:00, and only one room had an actual challenge to it (The Throne Room). The girl tried climbing the rope, kept falling off, and then tried again. This was one of the first episodes ever, and it didn't look good in the start, but luckily it got better.

No mention of Blackbeard's Treasure Map in the worst list? That's got to be the worst temple run ever. Only one player entered the temple and she only explored four rooms. A friggin shame considering they had two pendants.

I'd like to nominate "The Levitating Dog Leash of Nostradamus" as the best run ever. This was done by the Orange Iguanas (I'm a "Blue Barracudas" fan myself). They go through the entire temple run without any mistakes whatsoever. The reasons for this:

1) Great teamwork: The first runner, Elizabeth, signals to her teammate, Jason, exactly where the half pendant is (in the Pit), allowing him to grab it later on. She doesn't take it for herself, because she has a full pendant and Jason has only half of one.

2) Knowledge: Jason, obviously familiar with the show, puts together the Shrine of the Silver Monkey without any problems or hesitance whatsoever.

3) Common Sense: Jason grabs the Dog Leash and makes it all the way to the Pit. He uses the leash itself to grab the rope from the pit and swing across, notching the team the full win with 13 seconds left on the clock.

This was the most strategical team I've seen on the show.

I just watched that episode and you're absolutely right: That was absolutely astounding teamwork, a rare phenomena on this show. The kids usually think for themselves, but the fact that Elizabeth left Jason the half pendant (AND told him where it was) was great thinking. At first I had no idea what she was doing when she started waving (even after reading this thread and knowing she was in the pit, lol) but when the camera showed the half pendant I knew exactly what was going on.

I don't know why, but even though I knew the outcome of that episode before watching it, I still got nervous when there was only about half a minute left, lol. I was sort of like, "Will he make it in time?!"

There's actually been a few times, where the frontrunner points out the half-pendant. However in The Secret Battle Plan Of Nathan Hale, the second runner runs past it, when her partner had pointed out where it was. This of course resulted in a loss when she encountered the third temple guard.

The thing about "The Secret Battle Plan of Nathan Hale" was that the half-pendant was in plain day, AND she still missed it. This resulted in one of the quickest losses on the show. That happens a lot of times in season two where the contestants just plain miss the half-pendant: "The Sacred Ring of Sultan Suleiman", "The Lost Love Letter of Captain John Smith, and 'The Crown of Queen Nzinga" comes to mind.

Andrea was also another contestant to point out the half-pendant to her partner in "The Lion-headed Bracelet of Chandragupta". She found it in The King's Storeroom in the same pot as the key and the camera got a view from behind of her waving it to her partner, Tony.

But, maybe no one counts that because it was a solo run.

Wow, "The Pendant of Kamehameha" and "The Broken Wing of Icarus" was the worst temple runs in the series? Those runs were amazing even though their outcomes were disappointing. And don't get me started with "Shaka Zulu" and "Golden Pepperoni" in the top 10...

^Second fastest. The Mask Of Shala Zulu was the fastest. But that was due to a production error. The door to the Tomb Of The Ancient Kings from the Holes Of Python was supposed to be locked.
