Carmen is easily the worst character.

She's selfish, vindictive, one-track minded (sex), obsessive, and thinks the world should revolve around her. Examples: (I forget the names of her boyfriends, except Jason.)

*When Jason is getting into that baseball team, she thinks he should sacrifice his potential in order to stay with her, not worrying about his best interest.
*When Max is faking his birthday, she blackmails him. (Though he deserves it.)
*How many episodes DON'T revolve around her having boy trouble/George getting worried about her having sex?
*Jason. 'Nuff said.
*"DOES ANYBODY THINK ABOUT WHAT I WANT!?"

She's just overall unlikable, especially when compared to George and Ernie.

That's why Benny is the best character.
The episode where Carmen wants to be an adult with no rules. So George makes her pay bills. So he won't let her eat pizza. She has this sad look on her face, and he brags about how that's great parenting.
Benny speaks up, picks about a spoon, and says something to the fact of , it will be great parenting when you realize this spoon is used for something more then salad (whap). That cracked me, because it's so true.

You're easily one of the most verbose posters on IMDb, which makes you a cut above all the "wao, dats gey" kids on here.

That said, I understand that the actor doesn't always have creative input. It probably WAS the writers, which explains why Ernie's only jokes are about being pathetic, Max's were jokes about being a stupid little kid, and Angie's were about being over-bearing. I guess the writers were just amateurs. This is the exact reason why I hate Two and a Half Men. I guess this show's just funnier.

Although Masiella Lusha is very good at playing a bratty teenage girl

reply

Hey, I think a lot of girls could relate to her. I know I can. Especially when everyone was calling her a whore at her old school and even the teachers wouldn't help her. I know how it's like to be made fun of and getting in trouble when I just tried to defend myself. And as for Jason and his baseball contract, well that was a little selfish, but I never liked Jason in the first place. Carmen was way too good for him. I don't see why people hate Carmen so much as if being a teen with angst is just so terrible. You guys are just like George in the show, he said that the reason why he was so annoyed with her was because he didn't want to deal with her problems. And it seems like you guys don't like to deal with people who have problems.

Don't worry be happy

Yeah the Carmen character was very relatable but it's like she was stuck at a stand still with her character. Made you think "okay what's next besides boy trouble and back talk and for God sakes will this girl just lose her virginity already"

I heard the actress quit the because of that too, because they didn't want to make Carmen's character more mature. I would have to, working on a sitcom like that you eventually get tired of playing the same character over and over.. She was leaving high school and finally becoming an adult (something she's been waiting for for the longest) and her character was still some defiant bratty teenager. I'm not sure why they didn't want her to develop, I think they could've made something great out of her storyline if they thought hard enough.

Amen; I HATE Carmen! I laugh when she cries.

Not really but yeah she's a selfish brat.

In this show it's a toss-up as to WHO is the worst character: that's what makes the show so fun to watch. Everyone in that family is disagreeable to some degree! They're stereotypical, which is still funny, although politically incorrect. Discussing the characters realistically is pointless because real people don't behave like TV people--most of the time...Look at how casual Belita is about her criminal acts; how hyper-new age sensitive Angie is; how Ernie only ever seems to think about getting a girlfriend; how much of a jerk George is, flat-out. As for Carmen, she's very much a stereotype, among the worst!

I like this show not because the characters are endearing, but because they're so goofy and weird. "Happy Days" it is NOT. Also...I admit that Angie and Carmen provide the show with a surfeit of Latina cheesecake. Quit analyzing it all so much and just enjoy the freak show of George Lopez and his cast of dopes, weirdos, sociopaths, sex freaks, softies, et cetera!

Couldn't disagree more. George wasn't a Jerk. he was very much a very typical dad in lots of way. His lack of a dad, and how Benita raised him affected his thought process sometimes, but he eventually usually overcame it

Oh dear god Carmen is a terrible character

She wasn't obsessed with sex. She was still a virgin after the age of sixteen and agreed to not have sex till 18. No, she was like a lot of girls her age. She just thought it was importantly to have the love of the guy. But she also gets emotional when she finally realizes all each guy wants from her like Zach.

Remember , what she told George when she was finally home after running away.

" I heard your voice dad, and it was saying don't do anything you would be ashamed to tell your mom. I didn't do it"

reply

Like running away from home at 16? I am sure Mom was super proud of that.

I have never watched a more unlikeable character on ANY show than Carmen was. She was completely self-involved.

- "Tact is just not saying true stuff. I'll pass."

reply

You either didn't watch every episode or just a moron. Not sure which. Self absorbed? Welcome to the world of being a teenager. Most, not all, are self absorbed. No Carmen was quite the typical teenage daughter , especially considering its a tv show.

Really? If all teens are that bad, then I'm NEVER having kids.

reply

All? No. About 75% lol. Remember its a TV show. , so more things are going to happen. But yes, it was a better look at teens and how they really are, compared with most shows.

reply

If I had a kid as bad and out of Control as Carmen I'd have her sent to a behavior modification camp in Jamaica, called "Tranquility Bay"

reply

Might want to consider sending yourself somewhere..

You do realize, that I'm only half serious with these posts right? I know this is only a show with fictional characters. I'm mainly just having a little fun with what I'm saying.

reply

The scary thing is Carmen reminded me of my sister when she was a teenager, in fact I think Carmen would have told my sister to chill out more than once.
