I could understand why Carmen was so dramatic.

Despiteher bratty behavior, she's been going through a lot and has very low self-esteem for many reasons, therefore, she's discouraged and acts out on it.

1) She doesn't have any real friends except for that one girl who moved. Most girls at her school either bullied her ( like piper and her friends) or betrayed her. She's mentioned many times that she'd like to have at least one good friend and that she misses Her old friend who moved.

2) Most of her relationships ended horribly. Dunken, was using her to try to have sex, and dumped her when she wouldn't. That other guy made up rumors about Carmen being a whore that forced her to leave public school. Jason was embarrassed to be seen with her and ignored her at the dance. (there's no excuse for that). Plus he dumped her when she pressured him into marrying her. All he had to do was sit her down and explain to her he's not ready.

3) George had proven many times that he favored Max over Carmen in the episode "I have my eyes on you".
This causes Her to lash out at him b/c she's hurt. Angie is a lot more supportive and understanding. Notice Carmen respects Angie a lot more than she
respects George.

I liked episode where the kids had to go live with Benny. I think Benny doing the old tricks to prove a lesson. Butt she even came home early on purpose to keep an eye on them. Lessons learned well for a while... Still, I really wish George and Carmen head more close moments. a little heart-to-heart would have been nice often. And even though Carmen was gorgeous yet she still had those issues is very realistic with how cruel kids can be for no reason. A little understanding probably would have helped her a lot but then again we would have lost a lot of great storylines.

I liked the scenes between Carmen and George. They had a good relationship.

Jason ignored Carmen at the dance because he was worried that since he was so popular, teenage girls who knew that Carmen was dating him would have harrassed her out of jealousy...

Drake is repetitive. He just raps the same thing over and over as if he is in an insane asylum!LOL:D

If Carmen approved of that plan with Jason at the dance, then why would she appear to be hurt and cry?

Why would she mention " you put me through hell for a week you really hurt me".

reply

I never got that either. If it was supposed to be a front for the rest of the school, why did Carmen feel hurt and start crying when she was only with her family (whom she already told of the plan with Jason).

She was also a spoiled brat who bitched and whined every time she didn't get her way (this may have been intentional. George and Maisala didn't get along at all on set, so that could be why she was written as an unlikable princess). Carmen is what you get when you coddle and spoil your daughter. Did you even see her quincenera? No wonder money was tight in spite of George having a pretty good job.

Maybe a latino can answer this. Are quinceneras THAT important where you go into ALL of the debt to pay for one?

I remember a girl saying that her family scrimped and saved hard and didn't eat out for a long time to get her a Quincenera.(Only for the Quincenera planner to run off with the Quincenera money, ouch. When the family went to the Venue, the manager told them the Quincenera planner never gave him any money for the Quincenera. They called the Quincenera planner and she changed her phone number.:( Luckily, complete strangers all decided to chip in to get the family the Quincenera they had been scammed out of. Gotta love the power of crowdfunding, ;) And the Quincenera the crowdfunding bought was even better than the one they had been scammed out of! :)) So, many families do think Quincenera is a big, important deal worth spending a lot of money on(In Latin cultures, 15 is the age a girl becomes a woman, it's basically the equivalent of Sweet 16).

Are you kidding? She was a whiny little bitch. I hated her character.

I used to find Carmen annoying myself, but it wasn't until her character was written out that I actually appreciated her character more. It wasn't the same when Veronica and George argued. So Carmen definitely grew on me after some time, and while her behavior can't be condoned for the most part, it is understandable.
