it really did. me and my two friends got it on hopes it'd be about real vampires scaring the living crap out of us.
we waited ... and waited ... absoloutely no tension and the blood and guts expected were blocked from the audience's view while the actors were probably thrashing cushions filled with thickened red food dye, with their good ol' crowbars.
sucking blood over each other's slit wrists and calling their elite group 'family' just made me wonder what pathetic human beings would actually do this in real life (considering this was a true story).
this was a wasted two hours of my life that i can't get back and to get something scarier i should probably end up renting carebears.

well yeah, it was under the 'horror' section of the place i got it from. it should be classified as drama and stop pushing it as a scary film. the cover, the blurb - it's misleading

I agree. I read Aphrodite Jones's version of the case (which is a book called "The Embrace") and this movie just completely went to the case, not the stuff that lead up to it...it would have been better if they had stuff about Jaden, Rod's Mom, more about Jeanine, more about the fact that they played "Vampire the Masqurade"...I thought it was good the first time I saw it but when I read the book, it was a load of crap.

I want to see this movie but i'm finding very different ratings of it. On imdb it gets bad ratings, but on Flixster it's got good ratings. At my local video shop it is put in horror but as soon as i read the blurb i didn't expect it would be scary. So i don't know if it's different or what. I think i'll still get it and watch it just so i can make a decision for myself.

well get it and judge it for yourself. don't expect horror - more expect a gay and pathetically edited murder and a retarded goose chase. it's really not as brilliant as i guess it could be
