dissapointing

ive been waiting to see this movie for quite some time......ive had in on my netflix que forever and its been on "very long wait" ....finally i was walking thru my local blockbuster and they had it..i must of missed it before....well anyways...all i can say is that i was very dissapointed....there was nothing new or interesting in it...just your typical japanese slice and dice martial arts movie. Its better than most but still nothing to brag about.

That is point of it. It isn't Ben Hur dude!

I can't say that I liked it either. I wasn't expecting "Storm Riders" but it was just blah. The colors were dull, the lead actress wasn't very convincing. Those swords were huge! Fight choreography was great but it was missing something.

I saw Twins Effect also but on Showtime it was Vampire Effect. Good comparison Effect was def better because you could actually see what was going on.

Thank goodness I wasn't the only one with a BLAH impression of Princess Blade. The story was ho hum, the action scenes were mostly ridiculous and I lot interest by 20 minutes in. I honestly didn't care about anyone in the film and fast forwarded through the rest. Looking over the discussion boards, I see I didn't miss much.

The one thing I did like about the movie was the general look and feel. Very dramatic and moody like a rainy day or a sad song.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

I had known absolutely nothing about the movie before watching it (which was about a year ago). With a name like Princess Blade, i was expecting some fast paced, kick ass action. Sounded like a cool waste of time but i was mistaken.

The main character was a little bitch who could barely wield a sword. Plus, back to the title, i was expecting a hot female lead (Princesses=hot). From what i remember, she looked kinda rat faced. She wasn't horrible looking but she just wasnt what i was expecting.

It was just a very boring movie and the misleading title worked against it.

I agree. My friend watched it and claimed she loved it and it was amazing. I think the opening scene was the best part in the entire film. It was slow-paced, the drama was bland, the plot, predictable, and the action, very dull and unconvincing.

The title definitely worked against it. This is your average cookie-cutter dash-and-slash neo-samurai film without a single dash of originality. I wouldn't watch it again if I was paid to. (Anyone want to make an offer?) On a scale, I'd give it 1/10, max.

If only I could get those 94 minutes back....

I agree. It was cleverly filmed and certainly referred directly to its manga origins, but from there it was pretty much all down hill.

I reckon the script was probably written on a matchbox, it was so slight and lacking in depth.

VERY disappointing indeed. Some people are comparing this picture with Azumi, They can't be more wrong. Azumi (at least the 1st one) is much better than this nonsensical flick.

4/10
