Where do you get the stones?

in silver version how do you get a Water, fire and thunder stone?

If you go to where Bill's house was in red and blue, talk to his grandfather, first you need to show him a likitung. then You get the stones by showing him an Oddish for leaf stone, Pichu for thunder stone, Staryu for water stone, then growlyth or vulpix depending on the version for fire stone.

Funny thing is his description f an Oddish is a "Round green pokemon with leafs growing out of its head." Even though Oddish is purple.

Thats ok. One small warning I can give about it is that you only get one of each stone, so if you have red/blue/yellow and want to evolve one that doesn't know a move that wasn't in R/B/Y, might be best to send it back in the time capsule then evolving it and sending it back to G/S, to save the stone for one that you know you want to use and has a move that you want to keep that stops it getting into the time capsul.
