DVD features, thoughts, etc.

I think pretty nice features are on it. A piece with the actors talking about their costars, and the best one I think is a "making of featurette that talks about making the look of the movie, cinematography, the casting, etc. Pretty interesting. I didn't get a chance to watch the director commentary. Also has the trailer on it. I think those are the main features.
I must say I watched it for the first time yesterday (7/19--I've got the connections for the advance), and liked it a lot. I have never read the book, and now am tempted to read it after my current book.
I think the acting was outstanding, and the story was extremely engaging. Too bad hardly no one will give it a chance at Blockbuster. It makes me sick when a quality movie comes out for once and all people rent is schlock like Final Destination 2 or Maid in Manhattan tripe.

Although the movie is wonderful (and even though I loved Chicago, this really deserved the golden globe and an Oscar nomination more), and one of the best adaptations to film I have ever seen, many of the things in the movie seem very toned down in my opinion, because the book has a more broad view of the characters thoughts and emotions. Also (because of time constraints, I assume) many characters and sub plots are left out. I agree that people should give this movie a chance, and also the book, instead of being so engrossed in Harry Potter(no offence to any fans)or the next craze of the moment, people should try a REAL literary masterpiece every once in a while.

I got the DVD last month and had never even heard of it. Someone told me it was a good book, so I decided to watch the movie, and was very impressed. I intend on reading the book as well, as the book is most likely better.
