A complete failure
This piece is a thorough failure. It has no plot, characters are laughable neither funny nor scary and not interesting. Supposed Lovecraft connection is a coincidence. What a pitiful movie.
shareTo each his own - I agree the film takes its time but my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed it - come on - a pre-op tranny with breasts, a mentally handicapped farm boy cannibal, a distinguished older gentlemen wife murdering librarian who doesnt mind sodomy and a corrupt CEO who will do anything to see his son again - um -- it certainly has interesting characters - there isnt much gore but when there is - it is well done and effective - this is basically Evil Dead in a prison cell - it doesnt try and reinvent the wheel - but it is well done.
shareI'd say the characters were ridiculous and instead of giving this move a grotesque feel they made it annoying. Besides the script which was almost absent.
shareyou're wrong. i DID get a grotesque feeling and the movie kept me interested until the end. which is a thing that doesn´t happen very often anymore.
sharei agree they seemed to overact most of the time (at lerast tranny and the mental problem guy). The atmosphere could have been a lot tenser with more realistic characters...or alternatively the whole thing coulda have been more outlandish and eccentric if they were going for that
