Only two problems

Mafalda. The only comic that is actually better than Calvin&Hobbes.

It has beautiful artwork, really intelligent jokes, and it takes a stand against the corruption in the system and for the people. It's really fun, humorous and completely adorable comic in all possible respects. I have a tremendous respect for JoaquĆn Salvador Lavado (Quino), because each of these aspects would be already very difficult to create (beauty of art while retaining simplicity of line, humor, intelligence, social commentary that's entertaining), but he also added some ingredients missing from modern world; innovation. Originality. Imagination. Inspiration.

The only problems that this video version attempt has, are twofold;

1) Mafalda does not work in video format. It just-doesn't-work.

2) Mafalda is very verbal, intelligent, full of ideas, thoughts, expressions that absolutely need words (until telepathy becomes more common also on this planet). When you take the words away, you create an eerie ghost-Mafalda, that looks like someone has beaten her to silence or removed her tongue - something horrible must have happened! Something important and precious is missing, when we can't hear her constant questions and the witty dialogue between her and her father/mother/friends/etc. It's no longer Mafalda.

It's like trying to make a Chris Tucker movie into a silent movie with no words. It just wouldn't work.

Can you imagine taking away the best verbal jabs of Calvin&Hobbes and just letting them roam the house and scenery without a word? What would C&H be without the constant thought expressions and idea exchange between the Tiger and the Boy? They would just wander around, and make small utterances. How eerie and weird would that be?

Besides, the chosen jokes are not that funny, and lose a lot when transferred to a silent video format.

So, the problems are;

- The video format
- The wordlessness

Without those two problems, this would be perfect.
