Where to get it?

Yes, so where can I get this movie?

reply

Well, as with most of Mr. Burton's older works, it's almost impossible to find. You'd be lucky to have seen it when it first came out. Our only hope is that he releases a DVD with all of his older -And someitmes better!- works on it.

Please don't poke the old people! Thanks.

my email is [email protected]

it would be illegal!

[deleted]

it should be illegal for us to not be able to see it!

reply

Well.... so? Is he losing any money? Is he or some big (or small) company really losing money becouse the film is on the Internet? No, because it isn't for sale, It isn't available.... anywhere.

reply

Sadly copyright law doesn't factor in a logical/ethical argument such as that, as much as I'd like it to.

reply

of course it does. downloading this film is well within the fair use exception.

reply

Hahaha. How would it be fair use?

reply

copyright laws oh noeeees

I could do with it for my thesis... does that count? :)

Boy, who knew a cooler could also make a handy wang coffin?

Then you won't mind my stealing your car. I mean, why should I even bother to ask or pay you for it, I'll just take it. Then I'll plead "fair use exemption" if I ever get arrested. Then the judge starts to laugh at me, I'll just show him your post here and it will make everything alright.

reply

I wouldn't steal a car - but if I could download one, I would.

If I have to tell you again, we're gonna take it outside and I'm gonna show you what it's like!

reply

if you stole a car, you would be taking an actual car from an individual who would then be without a car. if you download a movie, you put a copy of it on your computer, you don't take away their means of watching it. and under the fair usage act if something is not available to purchase in this country, it is not illegal to download a copy of it. since this film is not available to purchase, it would be perfectly legal to download it. then again, tim burton is now owned by disney, and disney has such strict copyright laws that they could probably find a way to castrate you for just spotting tim burton at your local grocery store.

reply

Thanks, LG, for a succinct explanation both of the fair usage act and of Disney's happy skippy funtime copyright aggression :-) No offense meant, but you sound wayyyy too cool still to be watching Burton. He was great in his day, though!

Everyone, STOP ARGUING ABOUT COPYRIGHT! This board is about The Island of Doctor Agor, so let's get back on topic.
